Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Art + MC-11
Jul vi, 2017
Has anyone been able to test this combination out all the same? More specifically with the a9? Looks like the lens is shipping I am tempted to order ane. I did however just purchase a 24-lxx GM but it won't arrive until adjacent week and I am 2nd guessing. My experience with Sigma and the MC-11 is that the AF is not as snappy equally the native lenses on my a6500 but I just purchased the a9, updated the MC-11 to the firmware that came out today and it seemed my 18-35 Fine art was nearly native speed and zero hunting while my a6500 still was hunting a little at times. Those were merely some quick tests today and sitting at my desk and then non truly a good style of testing.
I am wondering how the IQ and AF is between this Sigma and the GM.
And with the Sigma having stabilization; should this also piece of work as a native Sony lens with OSS?
Downsides I encounter with the Sigma is it is slightly heavier, no focus concord push button (not really sure if I care), and perhaps AF not being as good every bit with the GM.

Although I haven't seen the 24-lxx F2.8 Art effectually, I own Sigma 24-105 F4 and a 135 F1.8 that performs pretty well with my MC-11 with firmware one.05. I'm yet to upgrade the firmware to the latest version simply I'm happy with the results were I can apply Heart AF on my A7 II.
I gauge the 24-seventy F2.8 Art volition have the same performance. Of course all of them are big, heavy and cumbersome but cracking performers, one time you see the results, you forget nigh those cons. Obviously the cost tag is the best attractive against the GM, but there are ever advantages of paying the actress coin and get them, a native lens gives the best results specially if you use AF-C frequently.

I guess the 24-70 F2.viii Art will accept the same performance. I more often than not apply AF-C so AF being spot on as much as possible is my concern. Even the 18-35 on my a6500 a few days ago I had what could accept been a good picture of my 3 year old but information technology was out of focus. Wouldn't actually exist an issue if he would stand even so for a picture but its most impossible.
The a6500 is going up for sale shortly, at least one time the 24-70 GM arrives and is in the similar new condition as advertised. Maybe I will terminate upwards ordering the Sigma, compare the 2 and sell one.
